What is 50mileRadius?

 

50mileRadius.org has been over 8 years in the making. From its initial conception at SUNY New Paltz in 2004 as a BFA thesis project, to this inaugural launch in 2012.

50mileRadius.org has been created with the belief that an ideal world can and does exist closer than we think. Aiming to shine the light on what’s right with the world, one 50 mile radius at a time.

Beginning with Beacon, NY the site will focus on supporting local economies by acknowledging, honoring and promoting awareness of small businesses that provide a model of unique high quality, outstanding vision, exceptional service and commitment to the greater good.
